Sarhad is a dedicated social, cultural and educational organization founded by Shree Sanjay Nahar to build bridges of understanding for children and communities from conflict-affected border areas. Rooted in decades of grassroots initiatives, Sarhad has grown into a nationally recognized organisation working with government and community leaders.
Beginning with the Vande Mataram initiative in the 1980s and expanding through the 1990s to regions of Jammu & Kashmir, Sarhad now focuses on education, cultural exchange, and long-term rehabilitation — all aimed at restoring dignity and opportunity for young people.
We believe human connection — education, arts and shared experience — is the most powerful pathway to peace. Sarhad creates safe platforms where children from troubled regions can heal, learn and aspire.
